Here is today's block, Starstruck Geese. This is one where I really dug the color scheme in the calendar and did my best to imitate it. I'm pretty happy with the results.
This is a pattern I drew for a small wall quilt several years ago. I have the background and the pumpkin finished in fabric, but I've been stalling on the mice for some time. So today one thing lead to another and now here's a sample mouse:
Proposed changes: a lighter brown fabric, a black seed bead for an eye, and chain stitching to outline. The mouse has to show up against a blue background, and the chain stitching would help outline it, as well as masking a few errors. After all, this little guy measures about 2" long from nose to rear!
The yellow strip is for his "harness" - it's a very skinny satin ribbon appliqued on top. I'm also thinking about adding bells to the harness if I can find them small enough. His tail is couched Wisper - a mohair blend fiber. I'm not 100% on that one, but it seemed cool at the time.
Feedback? Let's be brutal, folks!

That's is really cute. Love the little bell idea. Try doll house minitures around Christmas time. You might need to rob a tiny caroler but it would be so worth it. I want to see what you've already sewn up for this.
I like those oranges and blues in today's block too.
Trying not to be too brutal. Your mousie would confuse me if I didn't know he was a mousie - he looks kind of piggie! The tail might be the problem. Can it be straight and held out high behind him rather than curled? And I know he's tiny, but if you can give him little suggestions of paws, that might help too.
Love the block!
Cute idea. I think the idea from another comment about a long tail is a good idea. Mice don't really curl their tails. Also, if you could bring their legs down a little more from their body that might help.
Yup, there's a team of pigs if I ever saw one. *S* Legs are too short too, and mice are not that fat.
I bet if you did a search in images for mice, you'd be able to fix that up really fast. It's a really cute idea.
What they^^ said, my first thought was piggy, not mouse.
Here's one:

I image-googled mouse coloring and found bunches. Including some that were too much rat, but they might do for your footmen.
I like dooce too, she and I went to the same high school, years apart. Never tried any of her book recommendations though. Being surrounded by books all day at work means I'm never desperate for the next thing to read, I've usually got a waiting stack.
Yep definitely a pig. Sorry. I have some small bells in multi colours that I would most willingly donate to the cause.
Love the orange and blue - one of my favourite colour schemes.
Have just spent a very nice weekend re reading "The Fourth Bear" such a hoot! Am planning to go out and buy more.
