What Have You Been Up To Lately?

I've been desperately trying to keep myself busy lately. Here's a couple pictures of what I've been up to:

I finished a baby hat and Maggie modeled it for me.

She got me back by sleeping on my face.  A couple of times.

I'm working on a new sampler quilt out of the 2008 Block-A-Day orphans.  This is the general layout...

And this is my first mock-up.  What do you think?  I need feedback people!

I also tried another recipe out of Martha Stewart's Cookies - Chocolate Pretzels.  Not as chewy as I would have liked them to be, but shaping them was fun.

This desperate plea to the child has been on the fridge for the last week or so.  My due date is the 11th...here's hoping!

LOL! Those last weeks are the WORST! Here's hoping you "pop" sooner rather than later (and that it is quick and easy!). :)

The layout looks pretty good! I love the array of sizes in the blocks you've chosen, and they all seem to fit together really well color-wise. That funky space in the bottom center is a little distracting though... maybe you could toss a little nine-patch or something in there to help fill in the gap? Or maybe you have another 6" lying about? Just a thought. What color were you going to use to set them?

Those last weeks do seem to take forever but it will happen, it's mostly guaranteed.

I like the layout; maybe I would swap one of the olives closer to the bottom to even out the greens but overall it's really pleasing. It might be fun to use that space for an appliqued "2008," looks like it would fit nicely there.

Great looking quilt! I agree about balancing the olives - I'd move the olive pinwheel to the bottom left. And are you sure Maggie wishes to give up the hat?

Stuck my head in on the 11th to see if anything eventful had happened. ;)

Remember..Alice Roosevelt Longworth said that giving birth was "like trying to push a grand piano through a transom". You might want to keep her inside a little longer..ha.
Wishing you and the baby the best.
